Chief Scientific Officers and executives from affiliate companies of ECONET, all Unigen scientists, as well as lab directors and managers from Unigen Korea, along with Scientific and Strategic Advisory Board members and core business partners participated in the semi-annual 3-day event.
The goals of the Science Summit are to exchange information and report progress in technology platform development; report progress in pipeline product discovery and development; follow up business development, market trends, and global regulatory issues; address the challenges in process development, production, quality control and quality assurance; report on human clinical evaluation results; and address intellectual properties and patent protection issues.

Unigen Korea reported further development of its GenoActive™ platform, a genomic information-based efficacy screening & validation platform technology, to discover therapeutic targets and establish high throughput screening of the PhytoLogix natural product library for regulating mitochondrial dysfunction. The novel natural compounds out of the research can be utilized for managing chronic degenerative diseases (CDD), such as memory loss, fatigue and cardiovascular conditions.
Unigen USA reported on consolidation of its R&D resources and expertise to focus on metabolic disorders, such as obesity, Syndrome X, diabetes and deficient microcirculation. It also reported on discovery and development of natural cosmeceutical ingredients that showed inhibition of tyrosinase, reduced histamine releasing, and demonstrated potent inhibition of Propionibaterium acnes and with anti-wrinkle effects.
